Adina Taubman
Actress
Adina is a multi-talented, nominated actress who lives in New York City with her family.
Adina lives in New York City with her husband and two daughters. She was raised in San Diego, and grew up riding horses. She got her MFA in acting from American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. After graduating, she started writing, producing, teaching, and marching for gun violence prevention.
Most recently, she performed her critically acclaimed new solo show, THE ROAD BACK, about her journey from depression to recovery, directed by Padraic Lillis (The Farm Theater) at The Reel Mind Festival in Rochester, NY this fall. She performed the play for a successful three week run at The Chain Theatre in New York City in the spring. The play was developed in Judy Gold’s Solo Performance class at ESPA/Primary Stages and with Padraic in several staged readings and a workshop production in 2019.
She has performed her solo docudrama, A Line in the Sand, about the Columbine High School massacre, in nine theater festivals, including The Planet Connections Theatre Festivity in NYC (Outstanding Production of a Solo Show award), The Midtown International Theatre Festival (Outstanding Production of a Solo Show), United Solo Festival, The New York Fringe, The Edinburgh Fringe, and PortFringe (Portland, Maine), and in many high schools across the U.S. and in Tangier, Morocco.
For her first play, Tell Me About Adina–a solo show based on the life of her grandmother after whom she was named–she was nominated for a Bay Area Theater Critics Circle award for Best Solo Performance. She is the artistic director of Chrysalis Theatre Company. For their inaugural production, Barking Girl by Susan Bernfield, Adina played the main character, Rae. She has worked at a number of theaters in New York, including Ensemble Studio Theatre, Manhattan Theater Source, Looking Glass Theater, Pulse Ensemble Theatre, and The Gallery Players.
